Double layered Ajrak print dress

A double-layered pure satin dress, in multiple layers. The bottom is a flowing single colour, a deep colour. The top is an ajrak print, the traditional block print of the Sindh region, that can trace its history to the Indus Valley civilization in 2500 BC-1500 BC. Traditionally, this uses deep crimson and indigo blue natural dyes and is printed on both sides with the resist printing technique. A slowly declining craft, with modern, quicker methods of printing and bright chemical dyes replacing the natural, muted colours. We use the traditional, environmentally friendly methods. Note: the ajrak print is handmade and we keep different prints ready with us. We may not be able to match the exact print as on the picture each time.
